How the Global Credit Crisis affects to Sri Lanka
heroes end the war now it's the time to build up the nation again.
So how will the global crisis affect this process? How can we keep a
positive attitude during these tough economic times?
The global financial crisis meant a significant drop in all kinds of
employment throughout the world. More than 1.6 million Sri Lankans are employed abroad,
bringing in $2.7 billion in remittances in 2007. They will likely see a precipitous
decline in such earnings.
Over the last 10 years, South Asia witnessed a rapid and robust growth of more than
six percent per annum, which enabled millions of people to escape poverty.
In 2006, the region recorded a growth rate of nine percent – the highest in the last 25 years.
We survived from the tsunami; now, we felt threatened by this new economic tsunami.
Other than global crisis financial companies like Seylan, had been taken over by the
country’s central bank. So most of day-to-day businesses traped with thier deposits.
Only thing I can suggest is cuttiing down most imports and increase the exports.
Then only there will be NO danger for Sri Lanka.
So what should we do?
We should consider the laws of the integral, locked system, which is like one body,
and gradually correct ourselves according to it. In practical terms, this means:
Arranging distribution so every person will receive only as much as he needs,
Instituting a universal education system that teaches people about the law of
humanity’s existence in a closed system.
I think we are benefited with being a small country here!

LTTE terrorists chief's son and top leaders killed
Sri Lanka Army special forces soldiers have found a body suspected to be of Charles Anthony, the elder son of LTTE chief V. Prabhakaran in the Karayamullavaikkal area this morning (May 18).
Also Sri Lankan Special Forces soldiers have found bodies of three top LTTE leaders identified as Nadeshan, Pulidevan and Ramesh during the mop operations in the last LTTE foothold.
According to the defence sources in the battlefront, the body was found after an unsuccessful and half-hearted attempt by the LTTE cadres to evacuate their leader's son early this morning.
Charles Anthony was known to be the head of Information and Technology department of the LTTE. It is said that the LTTE leader was compelled to recruit his son to the outfit to avoid criticism over his hypocrisy. The LTTE leader was often criticised for sending thousands of child soldiers to war while giving a luxurious life and best of education to his own children. Charles Anthony was given a very senior position in the outfit after establishing a special non-fighting unit for him.
