එ වගෙ කඩ වලින් මම කැම කන්නෙ නැති නිසා මම ගිහින් ඉල්ලුව කිරි පකෙට් එකක්.. කඩෙ හිටපු කොලුවෙක් කිව්ව "Rs40" යි කියල, මම බලුව පැකෙට් එක .. එකෙ ගහල තියෙයෙනව උපරිම සීත කල මිල Rs 30ය් කියල.. මම එක පෙන්නුව. කොල්ල කියපි මෙහෙ එ ගාන තමා කියල. මම මට එප කියල අපහු ඩුන්න..
වඩෙ මෙකනෙ.. බස් 4-5කින් ආපු ගොඩාක් ඩෙන කඩෙ කොල්ලො කියන ගනන් වලට කාම බීම ගත්ත..

Tax reduction on imported vehicles for state employees
State sector employees will receive a 50-70 percent import duty reduction on brand new vehicles up to USD 25,000 or equal in value.
The tax reduction will be in effect as of December 15. The maximum capacity for imported petrol vehicles and diesel vehicles will be 2000CC and 2600CC respectively in order to be eligible for this concession.
The proposed tax cuts to be effective from December 15, 2010 are for state sector officials who have served in a senior position for over six years.
Military officers above the ranks of lieutenant colonel, commander and wing commander are entitled to the tax concession.
Professionals attached to the armed forces such as engineers, lawyers, doctors and accountants are also eligible, according to the circular obtained by lbr.lk, our sister news website.
Senior university academics with 12 years services are also eligible to the permit.

Sri Lanka Child Assumed Dead In 2004 Tsunami Is Found After Six Years !
A six-year-old Sri Lankan girl previously believed to have been lost or killed during the 2004 tsunami has been found after six years.
According to Anoma Dissanayake of the National Child Protection Authority (NCPA), the girl, believed to be from the southern town of Galle, "was not legally adopted and her identification papers were falsified. We will now be conducting DNA tests to find her real parents."
The child's foster-father claims she had been bought for about $20 from a worker at a hospital devastated in the disaster, which killed over 30,000 people. "It was obvious their story was untrue," Dissanayake told. "You cannot buy children off the streets in Sri Lanka as if you were buying mangoes." The foster-father has since been arrested, although police are continuing to search for his wife.
"Until her real parents are traced the girl will looked after by us," Dissanayake said.

Sri Lankan banknotes are unusual in that they are printed vertically on the reverse. Banknotes are currently printed by "De la Rue Lanka Currency and Securities Print (Pvt) Ltd", a joint venture between the Government of Sri Lanka and Thomas De la Rue, a British banknote and securities printer.
Current banknotes are issued in denominations of 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000 and 2000 Rupees. The note of 200 rupees was issued in 1998 to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Independence for Sri Lanka. The 200 Rupee note was only intended to be in circulation for a short time, but due to its popularity it remains in circulation to today. On 17 October 2006 a new note of 2000 Rupees was issued. Older Sri Lankan and Ceylon banknotes remain legal tender.

Respected independent observers including the US State Department and the International Crisis Group have drawn attention to credible allegations of war crimes against both the Tamil Tiger rebels and the government, leading to thousands of civilian deaths. If Colombo can get away with it -- by beguiling western media, for example, into focusing elsewhere -- then it sets a dangerous precedent.

MP Ranjan Ramanayake arrested
UNP Rathnapura district MP and film actor turned politician Ranjan Ramanayake has been arrested by Police this afternoon. The reason for his arrest is not yet known.

Inflation for the month of August recorded an 0.7% increase to 5% compared to 4.3 % for the month of July.

Rubber prices have fallen by ~ 11% to LKR 469.50 from 526.00 for TPX 1X rubber , and the price of skim rubber has marginally declined by around 0.35% .

Prices of low grown tea has increased by 6% medium by 7% & high grown by 5% .increasing the average tea production to 367.33 for the month of August comparative to only 344.37 for July which is an increase of
7% mainly due to Russian winter buying & Middle Eastern presence.

Sri Lanka has blocked over 100 porn websites that allegedly feature local men and women, the government said Thursday, in its biggest yet Internet censorship move.
The Sri Lankan Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) has been asked to prevent users in the country accessing some 107 adult websites, the government information department said.
The move followed complaints heard at Colombo's Juvenile Court that children had free access to the websites, which featured Sri Lankan men and women.
Other adult sites featuring non-Sri Lankans will remain available, however.
In July last year, the TRC blocked 12 other porn websites, including redtube.com, an adult content sharing portal.
Sri Lanka already maintains an unofficial ban on websites of dissidents by getting local Internet service providers to block access to those portals. However, users can still access those sites by using proxy servers abroad.
